Felixstowe missing person update |
||
|
Police continue to search for missing 80-year-old man who was last seen in the Trimley area.
Alan Wilson is believed to have left the Rogers Close area in Felixstowe on foot just before 4.15pm on Monday, 13 July.
Nearby CCTV footage captured Alan wearing a black long-sleeved light jacket, light grey slack-type trousers and dark shoes.
Officers have undertaken multiple enquiries since Alan was reported missing, including reviewing CCTV and doorbell footage, carrying out house-to-house enquiries and conducting searches across Felixstowe, Trimley St Mary and Trimley St Martin, as well as in areas known to Alan.
Search efforts have been supported by HM Coastguard, the National Police Air Service and volunteers from Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue (SulSAR).
Police have also received a number of reports of possible sightings of Alan from members of the public.
As a result of these enquiries officers know that at 4:30pm on Monday, Alan took the number 75 bus outside the Half Moon Pub on the High Street, travelling towards Trimley St Martin. A CCTV image from that bus clearly shows Alan wearing glasses. At 5:32pm, Alan was captured on door camera footage walking along St Martin’s Green in Trimley St Martin.
The latest sighting was at 5.38pm on Monday where he was seen in the village on a path by the roundabout junction connecting High Road, Gosling Way, Roundhouse Avenue and Howlett Way. It is not currently clear which direction he took from this point.
Police continue to appeal for information and urge that anyone who may have seen Alan, or has information regarding his whereabouts, to contact police immediately.
Detective Inspector Donna Hopper said: “I would again like to thank members of the public for the continued support and information they have provided so far. We have had a number of reported sightings and video shared footage which have been invaluable, and I can only request again for any further information, sightings, CCTV or dash camera footage.
“Equally, if those in the area, including Felixstowe, Walton, Trimley St Mary, Trimley St Martin and other local villages, could take a few moments to look in gardens, outside area and outbuildings that would be a real help.
“Alan has been missing since Monday and he is without important medication. We do not believe that he has any money on him and he does not own a mobile phone.
“We are also asking dog walkers to be attentive and to report any information that may assist police.
“Motorists who have travelled through these areas, particularly along the High Road in Trimley St Martin, are urged to review any dash cam footage.
"If you see Alan, please do not assume someone else has already reported the sighting. We would encourage you to approach him and speak with him and contact police immediately by calling 999."
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts, to contact Suffolk Police immediately, quoting CAD 382 of 13 July.
